NiPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening)

Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening (NIPS or NIPT) for Pregnancy is the test that looks at whether a pregnancy is at increased risk for the chromosomal disorders as listed below.

1) All reports include analysis of chromosomes 21, 18 and 13 and assess risk for the following trisomies:

Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome)
Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome)
Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome)

2) Analysis of sex chromosome aneuploidies:

 

Turner syndrome

Klinefelter’s Syndrome

Triple X Syndrome

Jacobs syndrome

 

3) Analysis of Microdeletions

 

1p36 deletion

4p16.3 deletion (4p Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome)

5p15.2 Deletion (5p Cri-du-Chat Syndrome)

15q11.2-q13 deletion (Prader-Wili and Angelman syndrome)

22q11.2 Deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome)
